AMAN VENICE
History & Story
The Palazzo was built in the 16th century by the Coccina family and became the seat of the Papadopoli family during the 18th century. The Piano Nobile, on the second floor, features frescoes, beautiful mirrors and chandeliers, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere. A historic library can be found on the fourth floor, alongside a lofty-ceilinged lounge with a grand piano and views of the Grand Canal. The third floor is dedicated to the Spa, whilst guests who climb to the fifth floor will find a terrace overlooking the roofs of Venice. A rarity in Venice, the property also features two beautiful gardens, one of which faces the Grand Canal and offers a wonderful place to enjoy the magical Venetian atmosphere.
Date Renewal
The building underwent a complete restoration in 2011, led by a team of architects from Dottor Group. The interior was designed by Jean Michel Gathy, supported by Mr Denniston’s team.
Main Strengths, Special Touch
The main characteristic of the hotel is the fact that it is an historical building offering a unique service based on the Aman philosophy. Guests feel at home away from home. The service is highly personalised.
Location
The Palazzo is located in the San Polo area, a quiet and central district of the city from where you can reach Saint Mark’s square. The Rialto Bridge is just 5 minutes walking from the Palazzo and in 20 minutes you can reach the railway station and Piazzale Roma.
Key sites/activities in the area
San Polo is one of the most historic districts and is full of handicraft shops. Museums and historical buildings are reachable on foot or by water taxi in 10-20 minutes.
Children’s Corner
The property does not have a children’s club but our youngest guests are very welcome and can find tailor made activities thanks to our Concierge team.
