Description
Shamwari Private Game Reserve is the embodiment of how a bold ambitious conservation project has turned back the clock, restoring a piece of Africa’s natural heritage to what it once was. In 1992 elephant, white rhino and hippo were re-introduced. Black rhino and buffalo followed in 1993/4, with cheetah, lion and brown hyena brought back in 2000. That’s when Shamwari become the first big 5 game reserve in the Eastern Cape.

Named after a supreme Xhosa Chief, who reigned in the late 1800’s, Sarili Private Villa offers contemporary comfort perched above the Bushman’s River, overlooking the grassy plains of Africa. The villa is a private oasis for families, groups and friends. This intimate villa provides the perfect bush experience.
