Xigera Safari Lodge
History & Story
Xigera Safari Lodge is the fourth, and latest, African property to join The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, which in 2020 celebrated a century of hospitality. It was nothing short of a dream come true for the Tollman family to become custodians of Xigera. Protecting the land and its wildlife, while empowering and uplifting local communities, is a cornerstone of the philosophy underpinning this remarkable new safari lodge.
Xigera Safari Lodge opened in 2020 as part of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection. Conceptualised by Toni Tollman, Philip Fourie and Anton de Kock – in collaboration with award-winning South African gallery Southern Guild – the lodge shows a deep connection to the natural world beyond. Meticulously created and crafted, in every sense the décor pays homage to both the human and natural heritage of this remarkable corner of Africa.

Whether it’s a bush breakfast or a picnic on your private deck, our chefs are always happy to oblige. They say the Swiss invented the clocks, but Africa owns the time.
