Silky Oaks Lodge
History & Story
Silky Oaks Lodge is a luxury rainforest retreat located on the edge of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest, overlooking the Mossman River in Tropical North Queensland.
The lodge originally opened in the 1980s and was extensively reimagined and rebuilt by Beckons (formerly Baillie Lodges), reopening in December 2021 following a multi-million-dollar transformation that introduced contemporary tropical architecture, refined interiors and expanded guest experiences while preserving the natural beauty of the site.
Today the lodge offers an intimate treehouse-style experience where guests are immersed in the sights and sounds of the rainforest canopy, with seamless indoor-outdoor living designed to connect guests with nature.
The lodge sits within one of the most remarkable ecosystems on Earth – the 180-million-year-old Daintree Rainforest, where ancient landscapes meet the Great Barrier Reef and the cultural heritage of the Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owners
