Location
The Dwarika’s, Kathmandu, is located approximately 2 km from Tribhuvan International Airport. The neighbourhood includes the revered Hindu temple of Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), about a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, is roughly a 15-minute drive away. The hotel is also close to the business district of New Baneshwor, where guests have convenient access to banking and other services, with most national banks having branches and ATM outlets nearby.
Key sites/activities in the area
Kathmandu reveals itself layer by layer — a city where the sacred and the contemporary coexist in effortless rhythm. A short walk from The Dwarika’s leads to Pashupatinath, where rituals on the riverbanks echo centuries of faith. Nearby, the Boudhanath Stupa radiates quiet majesty as monks circle beneath a canopy of prayer flags.
Across the valley, the ancient cities of Patan and Bhaktapur hold the essence of Newari civilization — carved windows, sunlit courtyards, and artisans keeping time-honoured traditions alive. Within Kathmandu Durbar Square, history stands in intricate wood and brick, while modern life hums through hidden tea houses and shaded arcades.
For art and design enthusiasts, the Museum of Nepali Art (MONA), Licchavi House, and Takpa Gallery reveal the capital’s creative pulse — where Nepal’s artistic heritage evolves with contemporary imagination. Evenings unfold beautifully at Ram Mandir, where an intimate aarti fills the air with devotion, or in Babarmahal Revisited, where restored Rana architecture frames boutiques, cafés, and ateliers of modern Nepal.
From the hilltop calm of Swayambhunath to the aromatic lanes of Ason Bazaar, Kathmandu invites slow exploration — each turn offering a glimpse into a city that feels both ancient and entirely of the moment.
