Development Strategy
Dating back to 1936 when it opened doors as the first hotel of New Delhi, The Imperial was envisioned for Lady Willingdon, providing space to halt her sojourns from the then capitals, Kolkata and Bombay, and vice versa. The most exclusive address in India was established then, in pursuit of constructing a central base for her comfort, and Delhi was constructed around it.
