Development strategy
We historically receive business from many aspects, like Corporate customer, Government / Embassy and etc. However, after our reopening in 2019, we strongly focus on luxury leisure market to welcome foreign luxury traveller by showing Japanese aesthetic of The Okura Tokyo. As a result, more than 70% of guests were non-Japanese customers with higher ADR in spring time.

Rebuilt and Reopened on September 12, 2019.
The original hotel was demolished and The Okura Tokyo was rebuilt as brand new 2 buildings with 2 brands, The Okura Prestige and The Okura Heritage.
The world famous lobby of The Okura Tokyo was designed by Mr. Yoshio Taniguchi, linking designs in the original Hotel Okura Tokyo’s lobby, designed by his father, Mr. Yoshiro Taniguchi.

• To create a truly Japanese hotel with elegance and comfort equal to the world’s best luxury hotels – Orinigally opened its door in 1962, the hotel’s vision is the same after its rebirth in 2019, as The Okura Tokyo.
• The Okura Tokyo is a synthesis of our group’s two brands: The Okura Heritage, representing authentic elegance and refinement, and The Okura Prestige, representing contemporary luxury and urbanity.
• The hotel has carefully cultivated these two brands since the hotel first opened, guided by the Japanese aesthetic of valuing understated refinement over overstated luxury, as well as of providing the utmost in Japanese hospitality for every single guest. Today, The Okura Tokyo continues to greet out guests with unsurpassed personal attention.

• On daily basis, we receive tons of inquiry from corporate account not only domestic, but also from overseas. We have enough number of banquet rooms in total 19, containing 2,000sqm ball room, named Heian. Heian can accommodate 1,500 pax standing reception.
• Through the year, more than 500 wedding reception is held on weekend, as having wedding reception at hotel is one of popular way to invite people and celebrate together.
