Opened in 1928, The Peninsula Hong Kong is the flagship hotel property of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, a Group dedicated to owning, develop and operating prestigious luxury hotels, commercial and residential properties in key destinations across the globe. The “Grand Dame of the Far East” has almost 90 years of history and has consistently been rated as one of the top luxury hotels in the world since then. Guests are able to relive the glamour of travel of a by-gone era and explore the historical artifacts displayed around the hotel.

All rooms were renovated in 2013. The stunningly renovated new rooms showcase bespoke luxury, detailed craftsmanship, and a timeless, classically modern aesthetic that blends the distinctive design touches and practicality present in today’s luxury yachts, motorcars, and private jets.

The hotel is situated along Victoria Harbour with breath-taking views of Hong Kong island, as well as the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, a constantly booming district with vast ranges of shopping malls and restaurants.

The Star Ferry Pier is within the walking distance of the hotel. It’s a romantic experience not to be missed, as well as a convenient and pleasant way to travel from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central Pier. Harbour City/Ocean Terminal, a mall stretching across Tsim Sha Tsui provides shopping and dining experiences for tourists and locals.

FUN FACTS
In 1941, Governor Sir Mark Aitchison Young surrendered the Battle of Hong Kong to the Japanese on the third floor of the hotel. He was confined for two months before being shipped off to prison.
With a strong reputation for its Rolls Royce fleets, The Peninsula Hong Kong was used as a filming location for the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun.
