Mother Nature is our driving force of inspiration. It is the backdrop, the stage and the star of the show. Our home in Bacalar is our retreat into the warmth of the jungle and lagoon, immersing us in the present moment through grounding experiences amidst seven shades of blue.

Main Strengths, Special Touch
The property features 34 A-frame rooms designed with a minimal environmental impact and built using local, natural materials. Overlooking seven shades of blue or lush jungle views, each room is equipped with spacious earth-toned interiors, a private deck and an outdoor shower for a deeper connection to our surroundings. Embracing the beauty of nature, Habitas Bacalar is also home to a Lagoon Deck with a fully-equipped bar, a yoga shala, and a wellness center with treatment rooms and a program designed around holistic practices using local ingredients like Melipona honey, coconut and cacao. The two-story open-air restaurant and bar, Siete, brings together the best of Quintana Roo’s local, fresh ingredients to create a menu that marries an array of flavors, colors and history into a myriad of dishes crafted with intention. The experience is centered on our programming pillars of food, wellness, adventure, music, art & culture and learning, with a specific focus on wellness and adventure. Guests can enjoy activities out on the lagoon, such as SUP yoga, paddle boarding, crystal kayaking, catamaran cruises and eFoiling, as well as relaxing, recentering experiences like daily yoga, sound healing, Janzu and temazcal.

Swim in the Bacalar Lagoon: This is the main attraction of the town. The lagoon is a natural wonder, with seven shades of blue and surrounded by mangroves. You can swim, kayak, paddleboard, or take a boat tour to explore its different corners.Visit the San Felipe Fort: Built-in 1729, this colonial-era fort was used to defend the town from pirates. Nowadays, it is a museum where you can learn about the town’s history and enjoy a panoramic view of the lagoon.Explore the Cenotes: The Yucatan Peninsula is famous for its cenotes, and Bacalar is no exception. Habitas is the first global hospitality group to launch a property in Bacalar.

•Located on the lagoon’s edge, Siete brings together the best of Quintana Roo’s local, fresh ingredients to create a menu that marries an array of flavors, colors and history into a myriad of dishes crafted with intention. Our kitchen is authentic and rustic while refined, with techniques that highlight the power of plant-based cooking and honor the environment around us. Centered around our belief that food is medicine, our seasonal ingredients are hand-selected at local farms by our chefs, who work closely with farmers to tap into local knowledge and choose produce based on their health and wellness benefits. Our menu also features carefully-selected animal products from the region, such as Yucatecan pork and freshly caught seafood, which are prepared by honoring local recipes and techniques. Some of our highlight dishes include Shrimp Aguachile, Leche de Tigre Ceviche, Heirloom Spiced Carrots and Local Long Beans, to name a few.
