History & Story
Luisa García Gil, awarded architect and her husband bought in 2003 the ruins of what had been the most important pre-industrial factory in Galicia in 2003 after falling in love with the monumental building with the intention of creating a boutique hotel. They involved their eldest daughter to help them run the hotel ; a hotel that would blend history, design, charm, food, service and calm (it is located in the banks of a river and forest and has a spa).

In 2009 hotel was opened after a 6-year careful restoration by owners.

Main Strengths, Special Touch
The monumental building of the C18 carefully restored. Inside there is an exquisite and personalized décor with antiques and artworks where our guests have more the feeling of being in a country mansion, beautifully integrated into nature. Personalized service is always mentioned.

Located in a residential area of Santiago de Compostela, UNESCO Heritage city and capital of the region of Galicia. The hotel is surrounded by forest and river within a peaceful setting of 1 Ha of property and only 2 km from the city centre.

Visits in the area include monasteries, Pazos (manor houses), historic gardens, wineries (is becoming an international wine destination), amazing coast for sailing in Galician estuaries and enjoying the well-known Galician food (fish, seafood, meat and vegetables).

The classic double rooms are spacious and bright, all have at least 30sqm and views of the forest or garden. They all have personalized decoration mixing antiques and contemporary pieces with an oak floor in the room and marble in the bathroom. They can have a queen bed or 2 twins.
Deluxe Room (35 sqm) – 13 rooms
The deluxe rooms are spacious and very bright, with views over the forest or garden and are located in the old building. They all have personalized decoration mixing antiques and contemporary pieces with an oak floor in the room and marble in the bathroom. They have 1 Super King bed.
Suites (100 sqm) – 2 rooms
Suites are luxurious and elegant, spacious and bright with 100 sqm and with special decoration with antiques, contemporary pieces and artworks. They overlook the forest and are mansard-roofed rooms. The bathroom includes separate areas of jacuzzi and shower.
Grand Suite (100 sqm) – 1 room
The most exclusive room of the hotel, located in the old part of the building at the nave. It has 100 sqm with a separate lounge and desk and has nine windows overlooking the river. Special pieces of artwork decorate this elegant and bright suite. In the bathroom has a jacuzzi and separate shower.

Filigrana Restaurant
Galicia is well known for its superb gastronomic products and wines and so is our restaurant, wherein a fine dining style, its delights can be tasted as well as its renowned wines. Our restaurant is a place popular with people living in the area. It serves a contemporary product inspired by traditional Galician cuisine. Slow food is guaranteed as a product comes from the area with our chef selecting the origins of what we serve. Its terrace in spring and summer is located in the garden with the peaceful sound of water present.
Q Café
Inspired in a French bistro, Q Cafe offers a selection of tapas and snacks in a more informal atmosphere. It has its own terrace surrounded by fountains and canals of water and it has a lively ambience in spring and summer.

The SPA of A Quinta da Auga is a unique haven that combines the occidental tradition of hydrotherapy with the oriental tradition of massage therapies in order to achieve the optimum equilibrium of the body, mind and spirit. A place designed to provide an exceptional experience that invites relaxation, rejuvenation and overall well-being helping to bring balance to the body, mind and soul. Our guests can choose from a tempting array of experiences, including hydrotherapy, oriental therapies, aromatherapy and our biological skincare line and find restoration, transformation and renewed energy.
The facility includes a bright gym with all the necessary equipment overlooking the garden.
