Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel
History & Story
Originally a 13th-century monastery, this unique five-star property seamlessly blends centuries of history with refined contemporary elegance. Part of the building dates back to 1212, while in 1583 it was entrusted to the Capuchin monks, who resided here for nearly two centuries.
In 1826, the monastery was transformed into a hotel, soon becoming a distinguished stop for the Grand Tour, welcoming Europe’s most sophisticated travellers.
Today, historic features such as the Norman-Arab cloister and the enchanting “Monk’s Walk” are beautifully preserved, harmoniously paired with soft-toned interiors and understated design, creating a timeless atmosphere of quiet luxury.
