- 1990s – the hotel was built under the name Hotel Laguna, 4 stars
- 2009 – the resort concept of Chia Laguna was created under the brand Chia Laguna Resort and the Hotel Laguna was featured as one of the 3 hotels offerings under the same resort umbrella and brand
- 2014 – the resort and the Hotel Laguna were acquired by the brand-new management company and hotel brand Italian Hospitality Collection. Renovations repositioned the hotel into a 5-star property (New suites, New panoramic pool, New spa)
- 2021-2022 – Rebranding under the Conrad Hilton brand (1st and only Conrad hotel in Italy) and new name: Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia – Full refurbishment
