History & Story
The hotel was established in 1912 and it immediately set the bar among grand hotels for travelers from Italy and abroad heading to Abano for thermal holidays and looking for a luxury stay. Then came the First World War. The hotel housed the general headquarters of the Chief of Staff of the Royal Italian Army, and on November 4, 1918, in Room #106, General Armando Diaz signed the Bollettino della Vittoria (Victory Bulletin), bringing Italy’s involvement in the Great War to an end. Today, the apartment of General Diaz is one of the most charming suites in the hotel; it still holds the General’s desk and the original mirror from back then.
The hotel has hosted generations of refined travelers and celebrities from Italy, the rest of Europe, and around the world, including heads of state, prime ministers, nobility, movie stars, and sports stars. All of them enjoyed greatly the wellness treatments that they received here, wellness that comes not only from the thermal water and mud but also from the beauty of a hotel itself, which has made history in the world of thermal Spas.

At the Hotel you can experience the charm of a historical Belle Epoque hotel and the perfect contrast to the contemporary purity of its White Spa.
The White Spa is a sumptuous 3,640 square meters facility where the purity of white meets state of the art thermal wellness treatments and beauty sessions. The treatments are based on mature thermal mud enriched naturally with valuable algae. We carry out the treatments in large private rooms, each designed to be almost like a hotel room.
The Infinity Breakfast patio adjoining the park and the pools, is where you want to be for breakfast in the open air. Here you can sip your first cup of morning coffee and plan your day.

The hotel is located in the heart of the pedestrian area in Abano Terme, a 45-minute drive from Venice. It is surrounded by a vast 25,000 m 2 park which hosts four large pools accessible all year-round with thermal water. The thermal water of the Spa springs right inside the hotel grounds. Abano Terme’s thermal water contains a combination of mineral salts, iodine, and bromine that is found nowhere else in the world and that holds valuable anti-inflammatory properties.
