Hotel Ambasador is located on Split’s West Coast promenade, within walking distance of the Old Town and Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel occupies a stunning position as the only property directly situated on the city’s main waterfront promenade, offering uninterrupted views of the Adriatic Sea and immediate access to Split’s electric urban life. It also stands on the historic site of the original 1937 Hotel Ambasador, and both the original and the new hotel have consistently represented a spirit of modern architecture and contemporary design. The area connects the historic core with the ACI marina and Marjan forest park, blending cultural heritage, nature, and contemporary city living in the heart of Split.

Our reception desk is crafted from ancient bog oak recovered from the bed of the Sava River. Estimated to be over 1,800 years old, the wood predates even Diocletian’s Palace.
We collaborate with a local photo chronicler who has documented everyday life in the city centre for more than four decades. His black-and-white photographs adorn our lobby and every guest room.
Every month, our lobby showcases the work of a new local artist, transforming the space into a small gallery that celebrates the city’s vibrant creative scene.
