History & Story
Hotel Byron is an elegant 5-star boutique hotel in Forte dei Marmi, set just a few metres from the sea with the spectacular backdrop of the Apuan Alps. It combines timeless heritage, refined luxury and an exclusive atmosphere of relaxation and privacy.
The villa was originally built in the first half of the 20th century at the behest of Duke José “Pepito” Caferino Canevaro, a charismatic and unconventional international figure. He chose the distinctive Liberty (Art Nouveau) style that still defines the property today, a style that quickly made the villa one of the most admired residences in Versilia.Thanks to its elegance and prestige, it became a gathering place for European aristocracy and high society, including the House of Savoy. At the beginning of the 1900s, the residence was transformed into a refined hotel, taking the name of the English poet George Gordon Noel Byron, who had visited Tuscany between 1821 and 1822.
Today, Hotel Byron features 47 rooms and suites, many with breathtaking views of the sea or the Apuan Alps, blending classic charm with contemporary sophistication. Its intimate setting includes elegant common areas, a lush garden, and a swimming pool designed for pure relaxation.
Culinary excellence is led by Chef Marco Bernardo, who elevates the experience with refined cuisine inspired by local traditions and international flavours.
