History & Story
HOTEL de LEN, in the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, is based on the principles of sustainability and wellbeing offers a contemporary experience which is deeply rooted within the land.
An innovative idea in the area of Cortina, where the modernity of design and technology is mixed with ancient wood, which maintains familiarity with the surrounding area. The main façade is characterised by a series of wooden panels orientated towards the mountains, in order to emphasize the deep connection with the territory.
HOTEL de LEN opened its doors at the beginning of 2022, after a major renovation of the historic Hotel Impero, located right in the heart of the Queen of the Dolomites.
The entire vision of HOTEL de LEN is inspired by nature, ruralness, the search for sustainable wellbeing and a return to the essentials of life.
The property offers rooms with a contemporary design that are inspired by the Alpine tradition. A stunning spa overlooks the mountains and the
beautiful valley with a restaurant and a bar that express conviviality using local products.
Date Renovation
Hotel de LEN opens in January 2022, after a major renovation. The architectural project is signed by the GRIS+DAINESE studio of Venice, which proposes a new structure, both in form and concept.

Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites, is located at 1224m in the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site. A famous worldwide tourist destination for sport lovers and more, Cortina protects and enhances the traditions of the area and is committed to the conscious and sustainable development of its natural landscapes. In 2026 it will host the Winter Olympic Games.

HOTEL de LEN is the ideal place to devote your time and to have experiences in perfect harmony with nature and the surrounding area at any time of the year: in spring the contrast between green expanses and whitewashed peaks is the perfect backdrop for a walk in the woods, among waterfalls and streams. In the colder months the muffled silence of the whitewashed landscape blends with the cheerfulness of winter sport lovers.
There are many possible experiences to have in the snow-capped mountains: from ski safaris to ski mountaineering, from snowshoeing on evocative routes to thrills on a snowmobile under the stars to adventures on a sled pulled by beautiful huskies or horses. Sports lovers can test themselves and challenge their friends at broomball and curling, whereas the romantics can indulge in an exclusive aperitif in the jacuzzi whilst taking in the magic of the sunset upon the snowy peaks.
In the warmer seasons, Cortina d’Ampezzo offers over 850 climbing routes and more than 1,000 classic and modern routes, 400 km of marked trails for hiking and trekking as well as typical restaurants and mountain refuges. Cortina is also famous for its via ferratas, equipped and prepared with metal cables, walkways, suspension bridges and stairs. 16 routes for MTB enthusiasts, numerous downhill ones for E-bikes and 700 km of cycle paths for road bikes that take you through breath-taking landscapes.

HOTEL de LEN is a SOLS (Swiss Optimal Living Society) certified environment. Each bedroom has been treated and designed to create an optimal and completely biocompatible resting experience. The regenerative natural quality of the materials alongside a reduction in harmful environmental factors characterise the guests’ experience in all environments, especially within the rooms. In the latter, in fact, technologies such as Magma13, Orpheus and Astreo, ensure a high quality of sleep and create a harmonious environment, for maximum comfort and wellbeing.
Magma13 “Sleep radiance Panel” – A mixture consisting of special materials, in the form of a panel positioned at the base of each bed. This intelligent matter, created exclusively for SOLS, expands and contracts according to mechanical, light or temperature stimuli, reorganising and restoring the energy within the space in which it is located. Magma13 facilitates a deep sleep and wellness experience, in order to reconnect you with the surrounding environment.
Orpheus and Astreo – Orpheus is a network filter used in electromagnetic environments to improve the sound and video quality of electronic equipment, reducing interference. It can capture and shield from radiation (external and internal electromagnetic fields) emanating from devices (PCs, tablets, telephones, etc.) connected to it. Astreo is a tool used for reducing high frequency electro-toxicological disturbances, known as “Dirty Electricity”, which grow within the power grid as well as in the surrounding space.
The combined work of these devices is useful in offering a sense of greater wellbeing, relaxation, better concentration and an increased feeling of vitality, as well as a better quality environment and sound propagation.

At de LEN Restaurant guests can enjoy dishes that combine the strong and decisive tastes of mountain products alongside the freshness and lightness of contemporary reinterpretations. a unique space that welcomes people all day, from the scents of breakfast to the spirits enjoyed after dinner. An identity strongly linked to the territory, which takes shape in an all-day menu, with dishes that celebrate the land and the mountains alongside new cocktails capable of creating contemporary harmonies between spirits, wild herbs and woods with striking scents.

The Spa of the HOTEL de LEN is a place where you can take care of yourself, finding space and time for the care of body and mind. The perfect starting point for rediscovering the regenerative power of the mountain in every season of the year through a selection of tailor-made treatments and experiences inspired by the territory. An intimate and reserved space on the sixth and last floor of the structure, embraced by mountains and nature. A wonderful large window allows you to enjoy natural light and a beautiful view of the valley.The Spa of de LEN allows you to explore the concept of wellbeing in all its dimensions. A journey in search of renewed happiness that starts from the panoramic relaxation area – with a 180-degree view of the mountains and the city of Cortina – and continues down a path set in between bodies of water with different temperatures: from steam baths to an ice fountain, from emotional showers to a salt sauna, as well as a Finnish sauna with views of the Faloria and the bell tower of Cortina. In the outdoor Jacuzzi, guests can live an unmissable moment of relaxation and take a breath of fresh mountain air, while let their body be soothed by the heat of the water.
