After several years working in London — including a role in the PR department of Bugatti — Maria Ferida Fava relocated to the Amalfi Coast in the 1990s. She gained valuable experience as Executive Assistant to the General Manager at the renowned Caruso Hotel Belmond, before managing her own luxury property, Villa Ferida, a prestigious private villa in Praiano.
In 2019, she joined Hotel Miramalfi, leading an ambitious renovation project that redefined the property’s identity and elevated it to a 5-star hotel. Her vision and dedication have been key to shaping the new era of Miramalfi, blending timeless charm with contemporary luxury.

A history of hospitality spanning generations, a journey marked by achievements, vision, and a deep love for our roots. The story of Hotel Miramalfi is one of passion, family, and an enduring connection to the beauty of Amalfi.
It all began in 1956, when Francesco Mansi fulfilled his lifelong dream by opening the doors of Hotel Miramalfi. After spending several years in Mexico, Francesco returned to his hometown, inspired by the desire to share the breathtaking charm of the Amalfi Coast with travelers from around the world. His vision was simple yet timeless: to create a place where guests could experience genuine Italian warmth, impeccable hospitality, and the beauty of the sea from every room.
Over the decades, that vision has been nurtured and reimagined by the Mansi family, evolving hand in hand with the traditions of Amalfi and the changing expectations of modern travelers.
Today, Francesco (the grandson of the founder) and Ferida Mansi, together with their son Alessandro, continue to lead the Hotel Miramalfi, guiding it into a new era as a boutique design hotel distinguished by its elegant, contemporary character and refined sense of place. Each detail — from the architecture to the hospitality philosophy, reflects a perfect balance between heritage and innovation, comfort and authenticity.
While the hotel has embraced a modern aesthetic, its essence remains rooted in the same values that inspired its creation nearly seventy years ago: a genuine passion for hospitality, respect for the landscape, and a heartfelt connection to the sea.

From the West: Strada Statale 163 from Meta di Sorrento to Amalfi
From the North: Autostrada A3 Napoli-Pompei-Salerno, exit Castellammare di Stabia, then Strada Statale 145 to Sorrento and then follow the signs for Gragnano/Agerola/Amalfi (Strada Statale per Agerola 366).

Fun Facts
Our main restaurant, Donna Emma, is named in honor of Signora Emma, one of the founders of Hotel Miramalfi and a passionate lover of Italian tradition. Her dedication to gastronomy and her love for the Amalfi Coast inspired the culinary spirit that continues to define the restaurant today.
Adding a unique personal touch to our history, our current Managing Director, Francesco Mansi, was actually born in one of the hotel’s rooms just a few months before the Hotel Miramalfi officially opened its doors in 1956. From its very beginnings, the hotel has truly been a family affair, combining heartfelt hospitality with a deep love for its roots.
