History & Story
With our 100 windows overlooking the lagoon and our magical location, in the heart of the city, we have made your dreams in Venice come true since 1853. The iconic Relais & Châteaux Londra Palace Venezia is located a few steps from San Marco square. Its 52 rooms are all different from each other, unveiling enchanting views. It has been a meeting place for artists, men of culture and travellers: Pëtr Il’ič Tchaikovsky composed his Fourth Symphony here, the famous writers Jules Verne and Jorge Luis Borges stayed with us, but also the Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio and Iosif Brodskij enjoyed their time at our venetian Maison. The hotel boasts a spacious terrace overlooking the San Marco Basin to enjoy the venetian specialties of our LPV Bistrot and Restaurant and to sip creative cocktails at our LPV Bar. It also features an amazing roof top terrace (“altana”) with a breathtaking view overlooking to the lagoon, Venice and its islands.

Every January we close the hotel for refurbishment. Last renovation: on January 2023 we renovated our 2 lifts and 6 rooms (classic and deluxe). On March 2023 we renovated one of our three signature suites, the Top Floor Suite with Panoramic view and terrace.

Fun Facts
-Alain Bullo begins working at the hotel in 2001 that is part of his family history. In 2011, he becomes General Manager. Alain’s father Aldo worked here for 56 years, for most of that time as Head Concierge. He met Alain’s French mother when she was a guest at the hotel: it was love at first sight.
-In December 1877, Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky stays at the Beau Rivage while working on his Fourth Symphony, which he describes in a letter to his brother Modest as “undoubtedly the best that I have written”. Our Junior Suite 106 is dedicated to his memory.
-Travelling incognito in 1884, Jules Verne arrives at the Hotel d’Angleterre (the original name of the Londra Palace) in July for a two-night stay. But the secret is soon out. The city lays on a firework display for the illustrious French writer, and the hotel spells out his name in candles on its façade. The Londra Palace’s Suite Jules Verne pays homage to the spirit of this great man.

Being the hotel part of the amazing Relais&Châteaux association, our aim is to create delicious journeys, therefore food plays an important role at our Maison: we always try to offer local food that reflects the territory (venetian lagoon).
