Before joining IHMG, Jörgen worked in various commercial and operational roles at Golden Tulip Hotels and Sandton Hotels.

History & Story:
The former university building dates from 1908 and was designed by architect J.B. Springer. Located on Mauritskade, the hotel sits between Amsterdam’s Oosterpark and the canal. The monumental building is characterised by its brick façade and decorative architectural details.

The building’s historic character played an important role in its transformation into Pillows Maurits at the Park. The original building and new wing are connected through a thoughtful architectural design, while the windows create views between the interiors and the surrounding Oosterpark.
The interiors are defined by noble simplicity, with tactile materials, warm earthy colours and a combination of Parisian influences and Dutch design. Art plays an important role throughout the hotel. Works created especially for the property by Raphaël Hermans take inspiration from the park and its birds.
