History and Story
• The Weissachmühle, built in 1834 by the Bachmair family, evolved into a guesthouse due to its central location. In the mid-90s, it was transformed into a luxurious senior residence with hotel rooms and apartments. The property was acquired by the Peters family in 1997 and reopened as « Parkresidenz Bachmair-Weissach » in 1999.
• In August 2010, Korbinian Kohler purchased the property, enhancing its culinary and hospitality offerings. On November 9, 2013, he opened the BACHMAIR WEISSACH ARENA, a premier event location spanning 2,700 square meters, hosting up to 1,100 people. The arena features high-quality parquet flooring and advanced event technology, reflecting Kohler’s commitment to quality.
• In 2015, Kohler introduced the MIZU SUSHI Bar, Tegernsee Valley’s first Japanese restaurant, combining Japanese and Bavarian cultures. The MIZU ONSEN SPA followed in July 2017, Germany’s first Japan-inspired spa, emphasizing health and well-being.
• In 2022, the BACHMAIR WEISSACH SEE-APARTMENTS were launched, offering private living with eleven suites, and the multimedia world TEGERNSEE PHANTASTISCH, focusing on tradition, landscape, environment, and sports through edutainment.

In August, Korbinian Kohler seized the opportunity to acquire the property, aiming to elevate its culinary and hospitality standards.
• Rooms and Suites
Korbinian Kohler personally designed all furniture, fabrics, and materials in the rooms and suites, emphasizing natural materials from the Tegernsee region. Tegernsee reed linen, used for curtains and distinctive wardrobes, is a notable feature. The bright, welcoming rooms skillfully blend traditional Tegernsee design with modern elegance, ensuring guests immediately feel the Tegernsee ambiance.
• Mizu Sushi Bar
In 2015, as a contrast to the exuberant Bavarian lifestyle and inspired by Japanese culture, Korbinian Kohler opened the MIZU SUSHI Bar, the first Japanese restaurant in the Tegernsee Valley. The interior, designed by Nora Witzigmann, merges Japanese influences with elements of Kohler’s Tegernsee roots, creating a unique cultural experience.
• Mizu Onsen Spa
In July 2017, the MIZU ONSEN SPA, Germany’s first Japan-inspired spa, was opened. Guests experience a fusion of Japanese bathing culture, regional water elements, and a new form of self-awareness. The spa features cedarwood and natural materials from the Alpine region, focusing on health and reflection rather than trendy spa superlatives.

In 2022, the BACHMAIR WEISSACH SEE-APARTMENTS were launched, offering guests a private yet integrated Tegernsee holiday experience. The eleven suites provide a homely feel while being part of the SPA & RESORT BACHMAIR WEISSACH.

Also in 2022, the multimedia world TEGERNSEE PHANTASTISCH was unveiled. This 2,700-square-meter indoor attraction features two distinct realms of entertainment focused on the Tegernsee. It combines tradition, landscape, environment, energy, sports, art, and education, with an emphasis on knowledge transfer, play, and sports.
