The Steigenberger Icon Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden is one of the most historic grand hotels in Baden-Baden and holds a special place in German hospitality history. Originally opened in 1930, the property became the first hotel of the Steigenberger brand, founded by Albert Steigenberger. Over the decades, the hotel established itself as a prestigious meeting place for international travelers, artists, and cultural figures visiting the famous spa town at the edge of the Black Forest. With its classic grand hotel architecture and central location, it became an integral part of Baden-Baden’s social and cultural life. After many successful decades, the hotel eventually closed for redevelopment, paving the way for an extensive transformation. Following a comprehensive renovation and investment exceeding €100 million, the hotel reopened in 2025 as a new flagship property within the Steigenberger Icon collection, combining its historic legacy with a modern vision of luxury hospitality.
