The Woodward, Auberge Collection
History & Story
A little over a century after its grand debut, the building at 37 Quai Wilson has come full circle, returning to its original vocation. Since September 1, 2021, it is home to The Woodward Auberge, a five-star hotel in the heart of Geneva, recently awarded three Michelin Keys, a distinction recognizing the world’s most exceptional hotels. Originally unveiled in 1901 by French architect François Durel, the neoclassical landmark, then known as L’Hôtel Bellevue, welcomed heads of state, royalty, and artists from around the world. It later became the seat of a private bank, before being acquired by The Bastion Collection hospitality group, who have meticulously restored the building to its former splendor.
Main Strengths, Special Touch
The property has been entirely reimagined by the renowned architectural firm Pierre-Yves Rochon, now featuring 26 spacious suites designed in a refined, contemporary style. With three exceptional dining experiences led by Executive Chef Olivier Jean and a Guerlain Spa open to both international guests and local Genevans, The Woodward offers the most discerning travelers a warm welcome, one that is as glamorous as it is authentic.
Location
