Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa
History & Story
Eduard Ruchti bought the old Doctor’s Sugery in 1856 and converted it into the Pension Victoria. 30 years later he bought the Hotel Jungfrau. 1897 The east wing of the Hotel Jungfrau was extended. This was the hotel’s first ballroom. The tower wing was added in 1899. The two buildings, the Victoria and the Jungfrau, were connected by a central dome. During the Second World War, the hotel served as headquarters for the Swiss army. In 1970, Mr and Mrs Berger took over the 5-star hotel. From 1990 to 1992, the 5,500 m2 spa was built. During these two years, the entrance hall « les arcades » was built. This was a passage for carriages and then for cars. The Côte Jardin was inaugurated in 1999. The luxury spa was expanded in 2002 and again in 2009 to include advanced treatments and anti-aging programmes. The modern meeting and banqueting facilities for the MICE sector are also pioneering. To date, there have been many renovations, new concepts in the restaurants and a change in management.

Development Strategy
For over 20 years, Michel Reybier has been setting the stage for a unique and highly distinctive contemporary vision of luxury and hospitality. Whether in Switzerland, France or London, each of Michel Reybier Hospitality’s establishments expresses the values that the company holds dear: excellence, authenticity and simplicity.
A hotel, a villa or a private apartment, a restaurant or a spa, in the mountains or by the sea, in the countryside, in the heart of a vineyard or in the city. All are governed by the single requirement that they be exceptional places, alive with a particular emotion. They are all driven by a single ambition: to share with you a refined art of living, essentially dedicated to well-being and pleasure. This holistic approach is based on unforgettable experiences where sport, food, wellness and joie de vivre form an inseparable whole. This approach is supported by Nescafé’s medical expertise, whose ultimate goal is to promote a better life, in the best possible health, for as long as possible. It promises to give meaning to each and every moment.
Main Strengths, Special Touch
Our historical past and tradition are our main selling point. There are many places in the hotel where you can still see the tradition and history. Like our Salle Versailles, which is a listed building. In our Salon Napoléon you will find a 140-year-old Murano glass chandelier. On the 1st floor you will find the atrium, which was used for daylight when there was no electricity.
Another selling point is our 5,500 square metre Spa Nescens. The indoor pool, reminiscent of a Budapest thermal bath, the two whirlpools and the outdoor brine bath invite you to relax.
