Aman was founded in 1988 with the vision of building a collection of intimate retreats with the unassuming, warm hospitality of a gracious private home. The first, Amanpuri (place of peace), in Phuket, Thailand, introduced the concept and, since then, Aman has grown to encompass 34 exquisitely serene hotels and resorts. Ranging from the urban to the remote, in 20 destinations across the globe, of which 12 feature Aman Branded Residences. Aman has a further ten projects in the pipeline with several under construction.
In recent years, Aman Group has grown to offer its coveted lifestyle beyond the parameters of its havens including Aman Skincare (2018), supplement range Sva (2020), Aman Fine Fragrance (2020), ready-to-wear collection The Essentials by Aman (2021) and performance skincare line Aman Essential Skin (2023). With innovation a cornerstone of the brand’s philosophy, in 2020 Aman Group welcomed a new hotel brand, Janu – meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit. Janu offers a unique take on hospitality where genuine human interaction, playful expression and social wellness are at the core of the experience. Seven forthcoming Janu hotels are in the pipeline for the brand including Tokyo (2023) and AlUla in Saudi Arabia which are currently under construction.

Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building is reimagined as Aman New York, where the city’s original architectural splendor and Aman’s harmonious design language collide, reimagining the inimitable tranquility of Aman in the heart of Manhattan’s midtown. Among the largest in the city, Aman New York’s Suites and Signature Suites are inspired by the airy architecture of Aman’s properties in Southeast Asia, offering a never-before-experienced sense of sanctuary on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. Signature Aman restaurants Arva and Nama introduce the brand’s exceptional source-origin cuisine to New York and sit alongside a Lounge Bar, subterranean Jazz Club, and an alfresco Garden Terrace. Occupying three floors, the Aman Spa New York brings to life the fullest expression of Aman’s health and wellness concept yet, offering unmatched facilities including two luxurious private Spa Houses, along with transformative experiences and cutting-edge wellness and performance science.
In September 2023, Aman New York also introduced two of our 22 privately owned residences for reservations, expanding and enhancing the hotel’s existing selection of suites.

Main Strengths, Special Touch
An all suite property beginning at 718 sq. ft. with the Junior Suite on Fifth Avenue, each suite offers a functioning fireplace, a first in New York City, while bathrooms are opulent and oversized with oval soaking bathtubs, marble rain showers and double vanities. Large windows offer immersive views over Manhattan and the use of organic, natural materials and muted tones brings a sense of balance and harmony reminiscent of that found in Aman resorts of the East.
