Development Strategy
We currently have two hotels operating (Tulum and Namibia) and will have 5 complete by the end of the year. During lockdown we had a time to analyze and redefine our strategy and were able to accelerate our new projects and expand our global team. We have a very exciting pipeline of forthcoming projects scheduled for completion in Mexico, Central America, the Middle East, and Asia in 2021 and 2022.
Habitas Tulum
History & Story
Habitas was conceived out from a story full of love and passion, we began as a community of diverse but like-minded individuals who shared similar values/vision and the need to generate unique experiences created by human connection. We never set out to build a global hospitality company and to disrupt and industry, we just wanted to surround ourselves with like-minded people around immersive experiences surrounded by nature. We believed that it is our collective responsibility to create a better future and to live a life with purpose and inspiration, to protect our environment, to give back and support others.
Date Renewal
Continuous maintenance, no significative renovations at the moment.
Main Strengths, Special Touch
A unique concept pushing exhaustively to protect Tulum as a destination and local communities. Creating a holistic experience combining our main pillars such as Music, Wellness, Art/Culture, F&B in a sustainable environment. Sustainability is a huge part of our philosophy. Every decision we make is made first and foremost thinking about the environment and sustainability. The locations we choose; how we build our hotels (that leave zero impact on the environment); our food and local ingredients; our programming; the local causes that we support and raise awareness with our guests.
Location
Our sustainable sanctuary in Tulum is nestled between the jungle and the Caribbean sea, where we connect, dream and celebrate.

HOTEL FEATURES
Accommodation
We believe that beauty, love & sharing combined with elevated, mind-blowing experiences are needed now more than ever. We believe that the world needs new homes and spaces where like-minded souls can connect and grow and dance barefoot in the sand. Our mission is to create an extraordinary world where strangers become best friends and friends become family. A world where the only luxury we need is the kind that feeds our souls and expands our minds over a candle-lit dinner.
We live to inspire authentic moments, moments in which we are fully present, where we choose to look up from our screens and into one another’s eyes. We believe life is bigger than our work, our worries, our routines because life can be taken away from us in an instant and we never know when we’ll see our last sunset.
Designed to coexist with nature, our rooms are built with materials that leave no impact on the environment. With natural palapa roofs, canvas walls, outdoor rain showers, and at least 500 square feet of private space, each room provides the perfect environment for rest and reflection.

Restaurants & Bars
Moro, our restaurant helmed by Chef Horacio Dardano, is the heartbeat of our home. Our menu is an ode to Spanish cuisine with Moorish influences. Our dishes are cooked over a wood fired oven using locally sourced ingredients.
A former sax musician, Horacio left Uruguay to pursue becoming a chef, He credits Mexico for truly defining his methodology. Now at Moro, he charms our palettes and brings us together with the same youthful candor he honed in his early years. Only this time, locally-grown ingredients like chile serrano and lima yucateca are given a platform on which to shine.
Wellness & Spa
Wellness is woven into the fabric of everything we do at Habitas, how we sleep, eat and experience our day-to-day. Our wellness combines the best techniques and ancestral practices from different parts of the world, led mainly with a strong influence of the local Mayan culture.
