Location and Key Sites
THE HIVE is located on the Pacific Ocean in Peninsula Papagayo, a secluded hideaway on Costa Rica’s north pacific coast and a sanctuary for adventure and exploration. Part sophisticated resort, part primitive playground, Peninsula Papagayo is Central America’s premier five-star destination.
International fights land at LIR (Liberia, Guanacaste International airport): driving information 37 KM / 23 miles, 45 minutes.
SJO (San Jose, Juan Santamaria International airport): driving information 247 KM / 153 miles, 5 hours.

Opened in 2023. Designed by the prestigious architect Abraham Valenzuela, THE HIVE is a gathering place— for people and more importantly for design aficionados. More than 10 countries were visited to source every component for the THE HIVE. When combined, these elements seamlessly come together to form a rich tapestry, where individual pieces fade away and the whole of a unified design aesthetic appears and works. As you wander, you’ll soon find that around every turn is a new discovery, every sightline reveals another secret, and every door leads to another surprise.

Welness
As you descend into the jungle and away from the buzz of THE HIVE, you’ll come upon a true sanctuary—our climate-controlled spa area. We’ll coordinate sessions for you and your guests to have our certified massage therapist heal tired bodies in a private treatment room. Afterward, step into the Hammam next door where steam is combined with aromatics and essential oils to offer therapy, a method of cleansing, and a place for relaxation.
Fitness buffs don’t take a vacation from working out so we created a full gym with weights and cardio equipment to keep bodies healthy and active, even if you are on vacation.
