COMO Metropolitan London is independent and owner-operated, it belongs to no third-party consortium (not Relais & Châteaux, LHW, SLH or Preferred). Its affiliation is to COMO Hotels and Resorts, the family-owned group founded and owned by Christina Ong, comprising 17+ properties across 12 countries, with Comoclub as the group’s own recognition programme.
CEO & Founder
Christina Ong is the Founder & Owner of COMO Group: Singaporean entrepreneur who founded fashion retailer Club 21 in 1972 and entered hospitality in 1991 with The Halkin, London. She personally owns COMO Metropolitan London and COMO The Halkin, and remains the creative force behind COMO’s wellness-led, design-driven philosophy across 17+ properties in 12 countries. Olivier Jolivet is the Chief Executive Officer of COMO Group. CEO since 2017; formerly CEO of Aman Resorts, with earlier senior roles at Club Med and McKinsey. Oversees COMO’s global hospitality, wellness and lifestyle portfolio. Rory Slater is the Managing Director, London. Appointed January 2024 with oversight of COMO Metropolitan London (including Brick Street and Hertford Street Residences) and COMO The Halkin. Brings a 30-year luxury hospitality career across the US, UK and Asia, joining from Estelle Manor, Oxfordshire, where he was General Manager.

Latest Renovations
The Residences have been renovated by Linzi Coppick of Forme UK, the award-winning studio behind COMO Metropolitan London, COMO The Halkin and Brick Street Residences. Brick Street Residences were refurbished in 2019. Hertford Street Residences were renovated in 2022, with Coppick collaborating with Mark Pinney Associates, an architectural practice with 25 years’ experience in historically sensitive refurbishment of complex buildings. Originally Georgian terraced townhouses dating from the 1760s, the residences retain their period architecture while the interiors were redesigned as brighter spaces suited to stays of any length. Furniture is contemporary: Porada, Morgan and Bo Concept; chosen to complement the architecture; kitchens are by DesignSpace with Siemens appliances and Unistone worktops. Duplexes at 1 and 23 Hertford Street feature private terraces; 23 has its own street entrance.

Description
COMO Metropolitan London opened on Park Lane in February 1997 as the original Metropolitan property. The hotel became a defining address of Cool Britannia, home to the Met Bar, London’s first private members’ bar, and to Nobu. Hertford Street was laid out during the building boom of the mid-1760s, and the residences occupy Georgian terraced townhouses from that decade, their period architecture and decorative detail preserved. Nearby Brick Street gathers ten residences around a courtyard. Both were reimagined by Linzi Coppick of Forme UK, who shaped the hotel’s interiors from the beginning.

A private residence with a five-star service. Guests stay in a Georgian townhouse apartment or courtyard residence, with full access to everything at 19 Old Park Lane: 24-hour room service, COMO Shambhala’s therapies and gym, and priority booking at Labombe by Trivet and Nobu.
Space is the differentiator: 104 to 195 sq m, two to four bedrooms, separate living and dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens and washer-dryers. The four-bedroom penthouse at 8 Hertford Street has its own private lift; 23 Hertford Street has its own street entrance flanked by mid-Georgian pillars.

Brick Street’s apartments open onto a private courtyard, exclusive to residents, for alfresco dining in warmer months; Hertford Street offers different configurations for larger families. Every residence has a separate lounge and full kitchen.
COMO Shambhala offers Family Wellness Rituals for guests aged five to fifteen: a 30-minute children’s experience with a guardian needed throughout.
