PRIVATE RESIDENCE HIGHLIGHTS
History and story
The Rebello boldly embodies the spirit of Porto, having revitalised historic buildings that were once Port wine warehouses, with the aim of maintaining a close link with Porto’s rich history.
Seeking to offer guests and visitors a unique experience that honours its location, the hotel has reimagined 19th century industrial buildings into a modern hotel. Not only preserving the architectural heritage, but also updating it into an industrial-chic atmosphere.
An essential part of Porto’s character, the Douro River provides an unrivalled scenery for the guests’ stay. A stunning view of the river can be enjoyed from Bello Rooftop, Pot&Pan Restaurant on the ground floor and some of the rooms.
Date renovation
• Started the renovation in 2018
• Opening in June 2023
Main strengths and special touch
• Besides encouraging guests to discover Porto’s beautiful old town, we also hope that they will be able to experience areas that are less well known and more off the beaten track.
• That’s why the hotel recommends using e-bikes to explore the surrounding area. Be it for a ride to one of Gaia’s beaches or to Porto’s lively city centre.
• As well as renovating rather than building, we are always on the lookout for fresh approaches to sustainability. This hotel has been conceived in an environmentally friendly way and, over the course of their stay, we emphasise to guests how mindful they can be of their environmental impact.
Location
• Available at reception is the Rebello Map, with recommendations for local monuments, museums, bars, cafés, restaurants and local scenery places.
• We are located in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the banks of the River Douro and just a few minutes from our hotel you’ll find a variety of restaurants and Port wine cellars.
• Guests can take the Gaia cable car to Jardim do Morro, the nearest metro station. (10 minutes by car and 25 minutes’ walk).

Key sites / activities in the area
• The hotel is a 20-minute walk along the river from Ribeira, one of Porto’s most picturesque and lively neighbourhoods. The perfect place to start heading up the hill and discover the city centre.
